About

Hello there! I assume that you've stumbled upon this blog and come to this page in the search for more information about me and the blog! Well, let me introduce myself. My name is Abigail and I'm a polish addict. I have a ever-growing collection of over 200 bottles of nail polish, and I'm running out of space to put them all. Between school, music, and nail art, I find time to sporadically post videos on my YouTube channel TheTurquoiseRabbit and update the blog.

For years now, I've dreamt of writing blog post after blog post about a topic that sparked my interest, and after developing a slight addiction to nail polish and nail art, I finally created a blog that I can now call my own.

As a student, I have a limited budget to fuel my nail polish addiction. Because of this, I search weekly ads and retailer coupons to find the best deals around for nail polish. And, if you're on a tight budget like me, you will be glad to know that I rarely spend more than $4 a bottle for nail polish. Sally Hansen, Sinful Colors, and Wet N' Wild tend to be the brands I buy most often. I mean who has the money to spend $10 on one bottle of nail polish?

Nail polish has been a passion of mine for about two years now. I remember when my polish collection could fit inside of a small shoebox, and now it's grown to have taken over my room and my closet (I have a problem, I know). Every girl owns a few shades of pink (more like the same color pink), and that's usually it, right? Haha not in my case. In 2010, I decided to get adventurous with my nail polish colors, a green nail here and a blue nail there. Man, I thought I was really extreme when I started alternating colors on my nails. My first attempt at "real nail art" was the Italian flag for my trip to Italy. From there, the difficulty of my designs increased, and my collection continued to grow. I received my first set of nail art brushes a few years ago for my birthday, and every since then, I work my weekends around doing my nails for the upcoming week.

I guess if you've read this far, you must be interested (or at least I hope so). There's one thing you probably don't know. I'm not like the typical nail art lover. I don't complete my designs on my fingernails. Instead, I love to paint my designs on my toes. Now that may sound a little strange, but just think about it. Nail polish on your fingernails chips really easily; inevitably you have to paint one set of nails with your non-dominant hand. I mean, nail polish on your toes ends up lasting for weeks, right? See, I've found the perfect solution to long-lasting nail art.

I tend to paint my toes on a bi-weekly schedule and my fingers every week. I love stamping and glitter and any simple way of dressing up a manicure without spending hours working on it (I mean it's just going to chip off anyways). For my pedicures, I go crazy with the designs. From Van Gogh's Starry Night to underwater ocean scenes, I do it all.

Well if you've made it this far, I truly applaud you. With all that said and done, nail art and nail polish is a true passion of mine, and through this blog, I want to share that passion with the rest of the world. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that there may be a post about cats here and there, too.

-Abigail
