Nail Art: Geometric Explosion

This week, I decided that I needed to do some epic nail art. I have been kind of uninspired lately, and I felt the need to do something geometric. I have no idea why, but for the past couple of months, I have been drawn to so many geometric prints, and this design encompasses all of them. I would like to thank the lovely group of women that I ran into at Ulta today. They inspired me to post my first blog post and continue on with my nail art!

For the base, I used Sinful Colors Easy Going. Red: e.l.f. Fire Coral. Blue: Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See. Green: Forever 21 Teal. Orange: Sinful Colors Hazard. Purple: Amethyst.

I then applied striping tape in strange, awkward crisscross pattern. I don't really know how to explain it, but wherever you see the white/light pink color, that's where the tape goes. I will admit that this was the most time consuming part. If you make one tiny mistake with the placement of your tape, the triangles will either come out too big or not straight, and it won't match the rest of the design. Trust me, I know from experience. BE PATIENT AND CAREFUL IN THIS STEP.

After carefully placing the striping tape, fill in alternating triangles with a small brush. Do not try and fill in the triangles with the nail polish brush straight from the bottle. It just doesn't work.

Without letting the polish dry, remove the tape and voila, your beautiful masterpiece is revealed.

I sealed my design with my favorite top coat.

Hope you enjoyed, and if you try out any of my designs, be sure to let me know!
